Partner characterization

Founded in 1965, as a non profit organization, and initially focused mostly on the welding construction sector - an important and innovative technology, at that time, for the industry development - ISQ widened its range of activities during the early 1980s to include other sectors such as environment, safety, metrology, construction and electrical equipment inspections, and safety testing, Quality always being the common factor.

ISQ is a technical inspection and testing organization, providing premier technical services to assure quality and safety of constructions worldwide. Presently with more than 700 people, we offer expertise to the specific markets we serve while applying core competencies and skills to all our work.
With over half of its members' staff being graduated engineers, ISQ has developed special know-how, and is able to offer a complete set of services including Technical Assistance and Inspections, combined with Vocational Training, supported by RTD (Research and Technological Development) activities in a way to continuously improve its knowledge and the added value of its services.

With headquarters in Taguspark, a Science and Technology Park, based in Oeiras, approximately 20 km from the Portuguese capital city of Lisbon; ISQ has regional branches in the country's North Region (Vila Nova de Gaia), in Sines, Castelo Branco, Viseu, Braga, Vila Real and Loulé, thereby covering the continental Portuguese territory.

At an international level, ISQ has offices, branches and associated companies located in Angola, Brazil, China, France, Mexico, Cuba and Turkey, renders services throughout much of the European Union and in over 20 countries worldwide.
